We are looking for a skilled Research Associate (m/f/d) to join our R&D Formulation Development team focusing on developability assessment and formulation development for the production of therapeutics in the fields of hematology and immunology. The successful applicant will take on a versatile role in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team. Using state-of-the-art laboratory automation technology, you will support the selection of suitable lead candidates and contribute to the development of liquid and lyophilized formulations of recombinant therapeutic proteins.
This permanent position is available at the next possible date at our site in Heidelberg.
- Supervised design and execution of (pre-)formulation studies and developability screenings with independent processing of subprojects
- Assist in the development, evaluation, and optimization of lyophilization processes
- Execute methods and workflows on robotic high-throughput platforms
- Create electronic lab notebooks and work instructions and contribute to the preparation of study plans and development reports
- Present and discuss data and scientific literature in internal meetings
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and contribute to the general upkeep of the laboratory
- M.Sc. in protein biochemistry, biotechnology, biophysics, pharmaceutical science or equivalent, or lab technician with several years of relevant working experience
- You have hands-on experience in methods and techniques specific to developability and formulation development such as SEC, HIC, IEX, nanoDSF, DLS/SLS, AC-SINS, Light Obscuration, Flow Imaging Microscopy and Karl-Fisher Titration
- Comfortable with operating complex equipment (Freeze-Dryer, Liquid handling robots)
- Pro-active, flexible, self-organized, and eager to optimize and automate your daily work while coordinating your efforts with your team colleagues
- You have the ability to independently conduct experiments, develop assays, and analyze study results
- Experience with Design of Experiment (DoE), Quality by Design (QbD) and liquid handling systems is a benefit
