We invite applications for a 1-year Postdoctoral Researcher position, with the possibility of extension based on performance, within a leading EU-funded project aimed at accelerating the adoption and digital transformation in the renewable energy sector. This initiative seeks to harness the latest advancements in cloud computing solutions, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and engineering management to advance the integration and optimization of renewable energy technologies, from hydrogen and battery systems to broader renewable sources. The project`s goal is to facilitate open science processes, ensure data quality and analysis-tool maturity, and enhance the efficiency of renewable energy systems through digital integration.

Your Job:
  • Lead the development and implementation of a sophisticated data framework for cloud-based services, specifically focusing on renewable energy systems like hydrogen and battery storage.
  • Apply FAIR data principles to enhance data management and accessibility across the project, establishing a robust infrastructure for data sharing and utilization.
  • Work collaboratively with project partners to integrate digital artifacts into a comprehensive validation framework, ensuring best practices in data validation and tool maturity are met.
  • Design and deploy enterprise-grade software components for monitoring and optimizing renewable energy technologies, leveraging expertise in engineering, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Develop and synergize metadata and ontologies, crafting a first-generation recommendation model for a metadata marketplace, enhancing data interoperability across platforms.
Your Profile:
  • Masters and PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field with a focus on renewable energy systems, data analytics, or artificial intelligence.
  • Demonstrated experience in programming, particularly in Python, Django, or similar frameworks, with a robust understanding of data extraction and machine learning models.
  • Advanced programming skills and substantial experience in software development related to digital services.
  • Exceptional collaborative and communication skills, fluent in English, and capable of effective teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Additional knowledge or interest in cloud computing solutions (private/on-premise/public) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies will be considered an asset.
