The operational business area is the heart of Amazon. This essential part of our company ensures that we efficiently ship orders so that our customers receive their items on time. As an Area Manager, your main role is to ensure that all processes at your location run as smoothly as possible to meet customer demand. You lead a team responsible for the safety, efficiency, and top-notch quality of our operations. Additionally, you oversee a variety of projects across our network to boost productivity.
- Key job responsibilities:
- Create, supervise, and promote a culture of safety and well-being
- Analyze and implement changes to continuously ensure high quality and productivity
- Supervise projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance service quality for customers in your area of responsibility
- Analyze shifts according to company guidelines and take actions to enhance our Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with senior colleagues to standardize shift processes
A day in the life:
You work in shifts at one of our locations, ensuring the operations are as productive as possible. Your main focus is leading and promoting a safety culture, maintaining the quality and performance standards of work shifts. You also oversee process improvements in your area and organize their implementation. A typical workday can vary, involving routine team management, daily operational tasks, process improvements, and extensive operational duties. Additionally, you act as a role model and mentor for new managers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Degree completion
- Leadership experience
- Relevant experience in communicating with various stakeholders, including colleagues and executives
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to justify business decisions
- Advanced English and German language skills in both verbal and written communication
- Experience working with Lean, Six-Sigma, and Kaizen methods
- Experience in working in a different logistics environment
- Experience working with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting
