Compulsory internship in the field of engine mechanics development 4-cylinder VAN and air ducting for diesel cars from September 2024

In Mercedes-Benz Cars Development, we are shaping the automobile generations of the future. We create innovative products of the highest quality. We are already working today on powertrains that will secure Mercedes-Benz's technological leadership in the future.
In our Mechanics Diesel & Combustion/Exhaust/OBD Diesel Vans department, we as a team are responsible for the component durability and functionality of the engine in the V-Class and Sprinter over the entire product life cycle. As part of the internship, you will be involved in the development chain of the entire engine, from test planning for test benches and vehicle tests to thermal validation in hot and cold conditions and component and overall engine approval.
In addition, we apply the maintenance interval indicators for the customer and develop the air flow of the engine for passenger car diesel engines in close coordination with the vehicle series and suppliers.

These are the tasks that await you:
Collaboration in the planning and execution of measurements on engine or component test benches Participation in the evaluation and tracking of the test status of the individual sub-projects (engine structure, engine running time, engine findings) Collaboration in the preparation and evaluation of results from test bench and vehicle tests, including test drives Presentation of results in technical meetings Participation in the coordination and initiation of component tests and part measurements Collaboration in the analysis and documentation of completed test vehicles and components QualifikationenWhat you need:
Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable course of study Confident written and spoken German and English skills Confident handling of MS Office, especially Excel Experience with evaluation software, e.g. Uniplot or DIAdem is desirable Team spirit, strategic way of working, commitment, analytical way of thinking, communication skills Affinity for cars and engines as well as technical understanding Knowledge of combustion engines and thermomechanics is desirablePlease note that your internship at this location must include a prescribed mandatory component.
