The ZEISS Digital Partners unit based in Germany, Hungary, India and China - is developing and implementing cutting-edge digital and data solutions jointly with the Segments and Markets of the ZEISS Group. For our office in Munich we are looking for an ambitious, down to earth and pragmatic professional.

About the Job

Join us as a Digital Technology Team Lead as part of the ZDP Digital Technology Accelerator unit. You will work on accelerating high priority emerging digital technologies like Generative AI @ speed and ensure their impact on your team within the ZEISS group @ scale. You will support ZDP in scaling its business with the ZEISS business units, in executing it more effectively and in staying on top of digital innovation.

Responsibilities 

Lead the engineering & platform team and ensure the success of the overarching GenAI strategy and roadmap by prioritizing & realizing business requirements

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the GenAI platform as well as applications and use cases for the ZEISS group and its units

Manage the GenAI model catalogue and align the data source integration pipeline to the GenAI solutions with agile product squads and business, D&A and CIT units

Support the team in the agile development process with multiple agile squads, encouraging strong delivery focus

Design and coordinate the technical and professional development of team members by mentoring, coaching, and conducting employee appraisals

Requirements

An excellent university degree (PhD is a plus) in natural science, mathematics, computer science, engineering or similar

At least 5 years of professional experience in a digital platform or product ownership role and at least 2 years of professional experience in a similar team leading position in a cross-functional setup or environment with clear ownership for a (digital) product and delivery responsibility

The ability to navigate technology trends, identify and prioritize game-changing applications for our group and lead colleagues in their development in agile squads

A deep understanding of foundational and large language models and the vision and hands-on mindset to make your ideas come to life in ZEISS solutions

Strong experience in software engineering management, a background in software development (Python, git, MS Azure DevOps) and familiarity with agile methods

 Ability to understand customer needs, solve real-world problems and to prepare, communicate and discuss complex technical facts in the operational environment

Open-minded, flexible and proven ability to interact with interdisciplinary and international teams

Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills paired with empathy to easily navigate corporate, as well as managerial / business and tech environments

Fluent English and advanced German language skills
