Our team works across all projects on the topic of on-board diagnostics (OBD) for Mercedes and Mercedes-AMG engines, both highly emotional conventional drives and performance hybrids. In particular, we are responsible for the functions of the OBD fault memory and Generic Scan Tool communication. We also coordinate OBD development and validation across projects in collaboration with the relevant specialist departments and ensure the highest possible quality of diagnostic functions in future products.
We also provide support in the validation and validation of on-board diagnostics (OBD) within the Mercedes-Benz operating system (MB.OS).
Your PhD project with us deals with the strategic and conceptual development and also the operational implementation of virtual OBD validation using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL).
Your tasks will include
Comprehensive literature research on the state of the art Creation of a strategy for virtual holistic OBD protection using HIL Elaboration of the concept Operational implementation of the concept Validation of the virtual OBD protection on, for example, the entire vehicleThe final topic will be determined in consultation with the university, you and us.
Qualifikationen Degree course in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, control engineering, environmental engineering, process engineering, chemical engineering or a comparable course with a very good degree Very good technical understanding Knowledge of on-board diagnostics and HIL testing is advantageous Good knowledge of powertrain development and the interaction of mechatronic systems in automobiles is a plus Analytical, strategic and innovative thinking skills High level of initiative and ability to work in a team Enjoy questioning and improving existing systems from different perspectives Affinity for programming in e.g. Python or other programming languages Business fluent in German and EnglishDo your doctorate at a renowned university with the support of Mercedes as a non-academic partner - and benefit from the know-how of a globally active company.
