About the Department & Team:
For our London Market Risks (LMR) Team which is based in Cologne we are recruiting for a full-time Claims Specialist. The LMR Team is a core business unit within Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re) and is comprised of non-proportional treaty reinsurance and retrocession business. The clientele ranges from Lloyd’s Syndicates and London Market companies to Global Players and medium sized local Reinsurers.
We are a recognised lead market for specific products covering Property, Marine, Energy, Terrorism, and Personal Accident as well as Whole Account or Umbrella protections combining some of these classes into dedicated solutions for our customers. LM Re offers reinsurance products across key London Market, European, Latam, US and other international locations. We provide brokers and reinsureds with a broad product range through both the Company and Lloyd’s markets across four different platforms and have approximately dedicated reinsurance employees across 14 offices. We also benefit from being part of Liberty Specialty Markets with its global network of approximately 65 offices and over 1, employees.

Key Responsibilities:
Claims Handling:
·Adjust losses in line with the workflow approval and target dates
·Facilitate claims independently within authority including correspondence with claims brokers
·Completion of all reporting files to process all reserving updates from and to underwriters including Large Loss Updates
·Close co-operation with our London claims team
·Preparation of claims statistics and analyses
·Close interaction with both Claims Brokers and Underwriters.
Accounting:
·Migration of data into our various internal systems
·Reconciliation of accounted versus reserved figures and monitoring of account movements
·Credit Control for all outstanding premiums, adjustment premiums, reinstatement premiums
·Support the Accounting team for LMR´s company business platforms
Reporting:
·Various reporting functions to claims and actuarial departments for our Lloyd’s Syndicate and company business platforms
·Large Loss monitoring, reserving and reporting.
·Data entry and document capture in our policy portfolio systems (PEA, IRIS)
·Database maintenance and digital data archiving
·Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules ,Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
Skills and Experience:
·Successfully completed apprenticeship as an insurance and finance clerk (“Kaufmann/-frau für Versicherung und Finanzen”) or comparable commercial apprenticeship
·Several years of professional experience, ideally sound knowledge in insurance or reinsurance
·Precise, independent, structured way of working
·Reliability
·Good attention to detail
·High level of commitment and initiative
·Very good knowledge of MS Office desktop applications
·Very good knowledge of German and English
