Job Description
As Head of Transformation, you will play an integral role in shaping the future potential & competitiveness of our company. We are searching for a talented leader with the rare combination of excellent conceptual skills and an entrepreneurial hands-on mindset – as you will be tasked to oversee one of the largest transformation programs in Europe.
What does this mean? We have developed the sCore Group Strategy, which is also well appreciated by our shareholders and by the capital markets in general. Implementing this Strategy requires significant changes in all parts of the company, both in customer-facing operations as well as in central functions forming the backbone of our operating model. As Head of Transformation you are leading the central steering of these transformation projects spanning the entire group.
As Head of Transformation you will contribute to the successful execution of the sCore strategy and our transformation journey You will lead and continue to develop the transformation program management with regular progress reports to the Board – both for the international implementation of our sCore strategy as well as for key corporate backbone projects. Transformation program management includes methodology, governance, budget control, reporting and escalation You will lead top priority projects commissioned by the Board, or conduct targeted deep-dives and provide hands-on support where transformation progress is at risk. Your role will be based in Düsseldorf. Some of the projects will require international travel You will lead cross-functional teams with internal and occasionally external support, and will also have line management responsibilities for a small team You will report directly to the Chief Transformation & Strategy Officer of METRO
Qualifications
A team player passionate about engaging in international teams A talented leader with a strong fit to our METRO Fundamentals – entrepreneurial and hands-on, results-driven Excellent conceptual skills – structuring processes, quantitative skills, problem-solving Board-ready communication and presentation skills incl. necessary storylining Fluent German and English language University degree 5+ years of relevant work experience Excellent business judgement – among others to identify transformation risks and define the right deep-dive areas for the team Ideally project management experience from a top-tier strategy consulting firm Ideally previous food wholesale/retail experience Ideally previous digital experience Ideally experience with managing large-scale IT projects
