THE ROLE:

As Principal Product Owner (m/f/d) – IMH / Containers / Dual Boot, you will lead the execution and delivery coordination of IGEL's next-generation innovation streams — including the IGEL Managed Hypervisor (IMH), containerized application support, and dual-boot enablement across heterogeneous endpoint environments.

You will oversee multiple Product Owners, align technical execution with product strategy, and ensure that early-stage innovation projects transition into stable, scalable product capabilities.

This role requires strong technical acumen, deep understanding of system software, and proven leadership in agile product delivery.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide delivery leadership across all innovation-focused product streams, including IMH, containerization, and hybrid boot workflows
  • Oversee and mentor Product Owners responsible for execution in their respective domains
  • Translate strategic product initiatives from Product Management into actionable, measurable execution plans
  • Collaborate closely with Development, QA, UX, and Architecture to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes
  • Maintain alignment between short-term experimental deliverables and long-term platform direction
  • Drive feature validation and readiness reviews to ensure innovation efforts meet performance, security, and usability standards
  • Engage with internal stakeholders (Support, Presales, Field Engineering) to gather technical validation and field insights
  • Foster collaboration between agile delivery teams and technical leadership, ensuring effective backlog management and dependency tracking

Collaboration Touchpoints

  • Reports to: Head of Product Management / VP Product Management
  • Directly oversees: Product Owners for IGEL OS, UMS, AI, and Innovation Tracks
  • Works closely with: Product Managers, Development, QA, UX, and Architecture leads

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8–12 years of experience in Product Ownership, Delivery Leadership, or System Software Development
  • Strong technical background in virtualization, hypervisors, or containerized environments
  • Proven experience leading multiple agile teams and managing complex product initiatives
  • Ability to communicate effectively between technical and business audiences
  • Expertise in translating early-stage concepts into executable, scalable deliverables

Preferred Background

  • Experience in endpoint or system-level software, hypervisors, or container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Familiarity with OS-level integration, secure boot frameworks, and workload isolation
  • Exposure to embedded or hybrid systems where performance, footprint, and compatibility are critical
  • Prior leadership over distributed agile teams delivering platform innovations
