Our client is a leading European construction solutions provider, managing complex engineering and construction projects across various sectors. They are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Frankfurt, Germany.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor for the project, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, ensuring projects are completed within budget while maintaining high levels of accuracy in cost reporting. You will work closely with the Commercial Team to provide financial guidance, track project progress, and manage subcontractor accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Commercial Team with all Quantity Surveying functions.
- Review and prepare subcontract documentation, ensuring compliance.
- Price Mechanical and Electrical tenders as required.
- Measure and price contract variations.
- Prepare and submit monthly Interim Applications for Payment.
- Issue contractual notices and assess loss and expense/acceleration claims.
- Provide fast, accurate, and competitive estimates.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal departments.
- Measure site progress on a weekly basis, including productivity and physical quantum measures.
- Manage and control subcontractor accounts, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Provide accurate turnover and cashflow forecasts for each project.
- Regularly review project cost plans to ensure target contributions and margins are met.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior QS staff, including graduates and those on scholarship programs.
- Identify and report on project trends, and manage cash flow for your package.
- Implement best practice commercial processes and strategies.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree-qualified or equivalent experience in the industry.
- 7-8 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
- Broad understanding of contract work, including Mechanical/Electrical Work Packages.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to negotiate professionally with clients.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
