Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller in Berlin to oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role is central to ensuring financial accuracy, supporting leadership with insights, and maintaining strong relationships with banks and investors.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

   • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

   • Manage monthly flash reporting and ensure timely reconciliations.

   • Review accounting data, including flash vs. actuals analysis.

   • Lead variance analysis and provide actionable insights.

2. Management & Investor Reporting

   • Prepare bank and investor reports (monthly and quarterly)

   • Consolidate management reports for senior leadership

   • Support board and investor presentations with financial insights.

   • Support bank reporting and covenant monitoring

3. Accounting & Controls

   • Ensure accuracy of accounting records and compliance with relevant standards

   • Manage month-end closing alongside Finance Operations and support Group Accounting with audit preparations and liaising

4. Cost & Business Partnering

   • Lead preparation and review of cost reports

   • Manage approval processes, from invoices to purchase orders to hiring approvals 

   • Partner with business units to track performance and ensure alignment with budgets.

   • Support cross-functional teams with financial analysis (e.g., investment in areas of expansion; marketing investments; CAC review)

5. Process Improvement & Projects

   • Drive automation of reporting and controlling processes

   • Improve cost allocation models and tracking of KPIs

   • Lead financial projects such as implementing approval and payment processes through our ERP systems

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role.

• Experience in a fast-paced, international environment preferred; ability to oversee high volumes of transactions across multiple entities with diligence

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proficiency with financial systems (ERP, reporting tools & Excel required; Looker a plus).

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage/prioritize several workflows according to urgency and importance to the business
