What to Expect
Location: Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg
Time Type: Full-time
Duration: 6 Months
Start date: April / May 2026
As an intern you will make a valuable contribution to our central corporate goals. Through your active participation, you will help minimize risks in our manufacturing processes and other operations, ultimately enhancing safety for our employees across various areas of our factory. You will support all aspects of occupational safety in production areas such as body shop, paint shop, or final assembly, as well as in building technology sectors like water treatment, energy supply, or ventilation systems.
You will gain deep insights into our manufacturing processes and working methods, which are shaped by "First Principles Thinking"—an approach that consistently challenges the status quo to improve things from scratch. You will apply your knowledge directly in practice and collaborate closely with experts in disciplines such as machine safety, ergonomics, or occupational hygiene. Depending on your interests, we also offer opportunities to expand your knowledge in additional areas such as environmental management or emergency response with our factory fire brigade.
What You'll Do
- Accident Analysis and action planning: You will assist in the systematic investigation of workplace accidents and near-misses. You will help analyze causes and derive effective corrective and preventive measures to sustainably improve occupational safety.
- Creation of Occupational Safety Documentation: You will contribute to the preparation of risk assessments, operating instructions, and training materials.
- Project Work: You will develop and optimize concepts such as work permit processes and support their implementation in the relevant departments.
- Handling Departmental Inquiries: You will address various inquiries from different departments. These may include requests for workplace assessments such as noise measurements as well as inquiries related to the setup of new workstations.
What You'll Bring
- Education: You are enrolled in an advanced semester of a relevant degree program, such as Safety Engineering, Emergency Management, Environmental Technology, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Languages: You have excellent German skills and good English skills, both written and spoken.
- Initial Knowledge: Ideally, you bring initial theoretical or practical knowledge in the areas of occupational safety, environmental protection, or health protection.
- IT Skills: You are proficient in using common MS Office applications.
- Personality: You are characterized by a structured, independent, and proactive working style. You communicate openly and clearly.
- Motivation: You are motivated to achieve more together. A high sense of responsibility, reliability and teamwork completes your profile.
