About the opportunity

We are looking for a hands‑on leader to define the AI strategy and technical direction for our robotic imaging platform. You will architect scalable AI systems, select the technology stack, choose model approaches and design the training pathway that brings our vision to life. Your work will span from data infrastructure and MLOps pipelines to model deployment and governance, ensuring that our AI components integrate seamlessly with robotics and imaging.

What you'll do

• Define the AI system architecture:
   design end‑to‑end AI/ML architectures across distributed platforms and cloud environments; establish robust data pipelines and compute‑efficient strategies to support AI workloads at scale
• Select the tech stack and toolchain:
   evaluate and integrate AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), model inference engines, vector databases and monitoring systems
• Choose the right MLOps tools (e.g., Kubeflow, MLflow, SageMaker) to manage model training, deployment and lifecycle.
• Develop the model approach:
   collaborate with clinicians, imaging specialists and data scientists to select suitable model architectures (e.g. deep learning, transformers) for ultrasound and robotic control. Define how models will process multi‑modal data and how they interface with control algorithms.
• Design the training pathway:
   define best practices for data collection, labeling and augmentation; orchestrate training pipelines that handle versioning, deployment and lifecycle management
• Ensure reproducibility and performance monitoring across experiments.
• Ensure security and compliance:
   build architectures that meet AI governance, ethical use and data privacy standards such as GDPR and HIPAA
• Implement mechanisms for explainability, bias detection and validation.
• Collaborate and mentor:
   work cross‑functionally with engineering, product and business teams to align AI decisions with business goals
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data scientists and software engineers.

About you

• Advanced degree in computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning or a related field with significant experience architecting AI systems.
• Proven track record designing scalable AI architectures and selecting appropriate ML frameworks, databases and cloud platforms. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands‑on experience with MLOps tools and practices; expertise in model training, evaluation, deployment and monitoring.
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning architectures and data‑management strategies; ability to translate clinical and product requirements into AI solutions.
• Strong appreciation of data privacy and regulatory requirements in healthcare; commitment to ethical AI.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working across disciplines and mentoring other engineers.
