Our client is a well-established investment company and independent power producer (IPP), dedicated to renewable energy infrastructure investments. With a focus on developing and constructing complex projects, they are actively shaping the future of the renewable energy sector in Europe and beyond.
As Senior Project Manager – Project Development BESS (m/w/d), you will play a key role in managing and delivering large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects in Germany. Reporting directly to the Country Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of multiple storage projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams (both internal and external stakeholders), coordinate all planning activities up to start of construction, and act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. This role involves planning, completing, and coordinating various projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, effective teamwork, and a proven track record of managing successful projects.
What You'll Be Doing
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating all projects and execution teams in successfully delivering projects from conception to RtB, reporting to the Country Manager:
- Manage multiple BESS projects simultaneously, from development through RtB
- Lead project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability
- Organise and coordinate all stakeholders involved in the planning, and development phases
- Act as the main liaison with suppliers, service providers, local authorities, and grid operators
- Oversee the detailed planning and technical design
- Develop and manage project-specific budgets and monitor performance
- Ensure compliance with all time, cost, scope, and quality targets throughout the project lifecycle
What You Bring
We're looking for a candidate who combines strong project management expertise with commercial intuition and a genuine passion for the energy transition:
- University degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of proven success managing complex renewable energy projects from initiation to completion
- Proven track record in project development phase, ideally with direct experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a strategic mindset
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
- Business-fluent German and English; Spanish is a plus
- Certified in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA)
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools
