Your mission
As a Working Student in Space Constellation Simulation & AI Network Orchestration, you will contribute to developing, validating, and benchmarking autonomous communication networks for satellite constellations. You will help us design and evaluate AI-driven orchestration algorithms that make constellations adaptive, resilient, and intelligent - in line with NeuralAgent's swarm approach.

Core Responsibilities:
In collaboration with our space autonomy and AI teams, you will:

• Build and extend satellite network simulation/emulation environments based on an evaluation of tools such as SNS3 (ns-3 extension), OMNeT++ / OS³, or OpenSN
• Implement, adapt, and benchmark state-of-the-art orchestration/routing/topology control methods (e.g., graph neural networks, reinforcement learning, hybrid heuristics) within the simulation environment.
• Evaluate end-to-end metrics (latency, throughput, resilience, fault tolerance, resource utilization) across multiple algorithmic approaches.
• Explore self-healing, adaptive, and cognitive network strategies (e.g., dynamic routing, link reconfiguration, adversarial robustness) in highly dynamic constellation settings.
• Integrate AI-based routing and orchestration modules with real-time telemetry feeds and external agents (e.g., ground stations) through ROS 2, gRPC, or MQTT bridges to enable hardware-in-the-loop or hybrid (TN-NTN) testing.
• Document, analyze, and present comparative performance results, and generate insights for next-generation designs.

Your profile
Your Background:

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Solid academic foundation in machine learning, networking, or communications systems.
• Curiosity for space systems, distributed intelligence, and real-world applications.
• Strong analytical thinking, hands-on problem solving, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical tasks.

Your Experience:

• Proficiency in Python, with familiarity in C++ or simulation tool scripting languages being a plus.
• Exposure to network simulation/multi-agent orchestration frameworks.
• Understanding of reinforcement learning, graph neural networks, or heuristic optimization for dynamic routing is a strong plus.
• Experience with Linux-based, containerized environments (e.g. Docker, ROS 2, gRPC) or edge inference frameworks (e.g. ONNX, TinyML) is highly valued.
• Prior project or research work in satellite communications, autonomy, or AI-enabled systems is an advantage.
