Meaningful and interactive data visualizations are at the heart of the Celonis product and key value drivers, which help our customers understand and improve their processes. The Visualization squad is a frontend engineering team dedicated to improving and extending the data and process visualization capabilities of the Celonis product based on customer problems, as well as insights from Process Mining research and data visualization best practices. The team owns the development of an in-house chart library, builds bespoke data and process visualizations, and develops user-friendly authoring tools for customers to configure interactive dashboards in Celonis Studio.

As an engineer in the Visualization Squad, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to develop best-in-class data visualizations that are used by multiple teams across the Celonis product. You will take ownership of new features in our chart library and the development of configurable graph visualization components in Celonis Studio. Your work will play a vital role in enabling our customers to build custom visualization dashboards and execution apps to solve their unique business challenges. You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager of the Visualizations squad and working with TypeScript, , Angular, Webpack, GitHub, Jira, and Datadog.

• Design and work with scalable and reactive frontend architectures for interactive data visualizations.
• Design and develop effective algorithms to solve complex visualization problems that improve the user experience (eg, dynamic axis labels, histogram bucketing, fast interactions, dynamic graph layouts).
• Find ways to optimize rendering performance in the browser to maintain a great user experience, even with large amounts of data
• Support new chart requests by implementing generic functionalities such as scales, transformations, and visual marks in our chart library, which is based on the Grammar of Graphics and
• Work with different experts to develop novel visualization techniques from prototype to production
• Advocate for visualization best practices and data literacy by exchanging knowledge with team members, writing blog posts, and contributing to customer documentation and training materials
• Contribute ideas to the product roadmap for process and data visualizations by collaborating with Product Managers, UX Designers, and stakeholders from other teams

• University degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in web frontend technologies, including Typescript, HTML5, CSS, and Angular.
• A deep understanding of UX best practices and the ability to build and maintain user interfaces that adhere to established design systems and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to develop high-performance, high-load, and complex user interfaces.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders.
• An analytical mindset with a deep understanding of complex algorithms, profiling, and optimization.
• Experience in writing and setting up unit/integration tests.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• A genuine interest in or knowledge of data visualization theory and best practices.
• Experience with data visualization technologies such as , SVG, or charting libraries like Vega-Lite, Observable Plot, or Highcharts.
• Several years of experience developing Angular applications in a production environment.
