Position Overview

The WUC is seeking an excellent and motivated candidate to join our dynamic team in the 
full-time, permanent position of Senior Project Officer
, based in our Munich headquarters. The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for administrative coordination, project and grant management, and office operations to ensure the effective implementation of WUC activities.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Handle grant management and reporting;
  • Write background documents and material for dissemination;
  • Maintain and update the organization's database and filing systems;
  • Organize a filing system for important and confidential organizational documents;
  • Respond to queries from employees and external stakeholders;
  • Maintain and update office policies and procedures;
  • Manage office supplies and place orders as needed;
  • Manage the organizational calendar and schedule appointments;
  • Organize in-house and external meetings and events;
  • Background research as needed;
  • Assist with administrative tasks.

Profile of the Candidate

  • Proven work experience as a Project Manager, Administrator, or in a similar role;
  • Solid knowledge of office procedures;
  • Experience with office management software (e.g. MS Office, especially Excel and Word);
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g. , Asana, etc.); is an asset
  • Good knowledge of social media platforms (X, Instagram, Facebook, BlueSky, LinkedIn);
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of the European Institutions and the UN human rights system;
  • Ability to work autonomously and within tight deadlines
  • Availability to travel occasionally;
  • Willingness to work longer hours depending on the demand is necessary;
  • University diploma required; additional qualifications in Administration are an asset;
  • Fluency in English and German is required; Uyghur, Turkish and other languages are advantageous;
  • Knowledge of the Uyghur human rights situation and/or human rights in China is a strong advantage.
