Position:

We are looking for a motivated

Student Assistant (HiWi) (f/m/d)

to join our team in the Python & Data Analysis Support for Biomedical Research

Earliest starting date:

Duration: 12 months

Workload: 10 hrs/week

Project Context

Our research investigates how changes in proteomics and metabolomics contribute to liver disease associated with metabolic dysregulation. The project combines computational techniques with clinical data to better understand metabolic diseases.

Tasks

  • Write Python scripts for data integration, network construction, and analysis.
  • Apply graph-theoretical methods to metabolic networks (NetworkX).
  • Automate tasks and create visualizations (heatmaps, network plots).
  • Document workflows and support reproducible research.
  • Run simple simulations or model perturbations.

Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Systems Biology, or related.
  • Python skills (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, NetworkX).
  • Interest in computational biology and omics data.
  • Fluency in English.

Requirements

  • A valid certificate of study.
  • For international students: valid residence certificate, work permit, registration certificate.
