AI Automation Engineer (n8n)

What You'll Build

→ AI Workflows

End-to-end automations for:


• Lead generation, enrichment, and qualification


• Sales outreach, follow-up cadences, and handovers to reps


• Onboarding, support, and internal operations


• Re-usable subworkflows and templates for common patterns


• Human-in-the-loop steps (approvals, manual review, escalations)

→ Multi-Agent Systems

Orchestration of multiple AI agents with clear responsibilities:


• Classification / routing agents


• Research & enrichment agents


• Drafting / summarization agents


• Memory & follow-up agents

Tool-calling logic to let agents:


• Read/write from CRMs, DBs, Airtable, Supabase


• Trigger emails, tasks, and notifications


• Guardrails and fallback logic when models fail or are uncertain

→ Voice Agents

Phone-based and web-based AI voice agents for:


• Inbound call handling (qualification, FAQs, routing)


• Outbound follow-ups and reminders

Expertise You Bring

AI Knowledge

Practical experience using LLMs in workflows (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)

Understanding of:


• Prompt design and system prompts


• Tool/function calling


• Token limits, latency, and cost control

System & Process Architecture

Ability to look at a business process and turn it into a clear, modular workflow

Knows how to:


• Break complex flows into reusable subflows


• Separate configuration from logic


• Design for scale, change, and debugging

APIs & Webhooks

Confident working with REST APIs:


• Auth (API keys, OAuth), pagination, rate limits


• Reading API docs and implementing HTTP nodes correctly

Experience designing webhook-based triggers:


• Inbound webhooks from CRMs, forms, payment, telephony


• Idempotency and duplicate protection

Vector Databases & RAG

Understanding of RAG concepts:


• Embeddings, chunking, retrieval strategies

Experience with at least one vector store:


• Pinecone, Qdrant, pgvector, Weaviate, etc.

Able to connect n8n workflows to knowledge bases for:


• Smart search


• Context injection into LLM calls

n8n Mastery

Comfortable with:


• Building complex flows with branches, loops, and subworkflows


• Using Code nodes (JavaScript/TypeScript) when needed


• Organizing multiple workflows in a clean, maintainable way

Experience with self-hosted n8n is a big plus (envs, credentials, backups)

Reliability & Monitoring

Designs workflows with:


• Error handling and retries


• Fallback paths and notifications on failure

Sets up:


• Logging of key events and decisions


• Alerts via Slack/email when critical thresholds are hit
