Support Engineer

Position Summary

We're seeking a Support Engineer to join a highly regarded tech company in Munich to oversee their IT infrastructure.

This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership and vendor management. You'll be responsible for maintaining their technology stack, managing device provisioning, supporting office expansions, and leading a small team.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations (40%)

  • Manage and maintain office network in the Munich Office
  • Provision and manage laptops (macOS + Windows) for new employees
  • Administer user accounts across Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
  • Oversee hardware connectivity from desks to meeting rooms (HDMI, docking
  • stations, peripherals)
  • Maintain and improve python scripts and automation workflows for system synchronization (high grade of automation)

Office Support & Expansion (35%)

  • Collaborate with office managers on local IT needs
  • Provide end user support

Vendor & Budget Management (15%)

  • Negotiate contracts with hardware vendors
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions
  • Build and Manage supplier relationships and ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Track inventory and optimize purchasing processes

Team Leadership (10%)

  • Lead and manage a team of 2
  • Delegate tasks and provide technical mentorship
  • Coordinate team priorities and workload

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Completed apprenticeship as "Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration" or equivalent qualification
  • 3+ years practical IT experience in a similar environment
  • Strong networking knowledge (LAN/WLAN, VPN, firewall basics, troubleshooting)
  • Python scripting skills for automation and system integration
  • macOS administration experience (MDM, user management, troubleshooting)
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Fluent German and very good English (written and spoken)
  • Driver's license (for occasional office visits)
  • Based in Munich or willing to relocate

Preferred

  • Experience managing small teams
  • Familiarity with automation tools (zapier)
  • Experience with Apple MDM solutions
  • SSO/identity management knowledge (SAML, OAuth)
  • Project management skills for office rollouts
