Index Specialist

Summary:
MarketVector Indexes GmbH, the international index company of VanEck headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is currently looking for an Index Specialist to support the MarketVector Index Operations team in their daily responsibilities. The position is located in Frankfurt. The index operations are carried out by a multinational team of more than 15 staff members across two locations. The core index operations take place in Frankfurt while the New York Office covers the time zones in the Americas. The team oversees the administration, review and controlling of all the MarketVector Indexes and works closely with all other teams within the company. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who would like to gain experience in almost all fields of indexing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following, other duties may be assigned as needed:

• Prepare and review data for monthly/quarterly index reviews
• Conduct daily index operations tasks (index maintenance, quality assurance, etc.)
• Prepare regular index statistics and reports
• Develop new indexes and prepare index summaries for these indexes
• Automate index and research process
• Respond to client requests (index or data related)
• Provide index data to other departments (Marketing, Sales, etc.)
• Support senior personnel at conferences and client events
• Maintain knowledge of index industry news and events
• Provide competitive index information

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Qualifications:

• Excellent data skills
• Familiarity with standard Software (MS Office, especially Excel)
• Team player with good communication skills
• Proficiency in programming languages (such as Python, R, SQL, or VBA) with a focus on automation and data processing
• Basic understanding of capital markets and digital asset (crypto) markets, with a strong interest in how traditional finance and digital assets intersect.

Education and/or Experience:

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or similar
• 0-2 years' experience
