Lead Contract Manager

We're seeking for an experienced and results driven Lead Contract Manager (m/f/d) who can lead complex contract lifecycles end-to-end, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive the creation of high-quality, compliant, and competitive bids.

• Lead and manage the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring hands-on execution from initial bid development through final contract delivery
• Coordinate and align internal stakeholders (technical teams, business development, legal) as well as external partners to ensure high-quality bid outcomes
• Create, validate, and implement bid strategies that comply with public procurement law, internal compliance standards, and specific customer requirements
• Develop compelling bid content in close collaboration with technical experts and subject-matter specialists
• Conduct comprehensive risk analyses and define effective mitigation measures
• Ensure the quality, consistency, and clarity of all bid documents, including their structure, content, and presentation
• Prepare and support presentations, responses to bidder questions, and negotiation meetings with customers
• Drive continuous improvement of bid management processes, workflows, and tools
• Lead and mentor a team of (junior) Bid Managers, fostering professional growth and high performance

• Degree in business administration, industrial engineering, law, or a comparable field
• 5+ years of experience in contract, bid, or project management, ideally within the defense sector
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results in fast-paced, innovative, and continuously evolving environments
• Strong knowledge of public procurement law (VgV, UVgO, GWB) and established tendering procedures
• Excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a strategic overview
• Proven experience working with interdisciplinary teams and navigating complex decision-making structures
• Excellent communication skills with business fluency in both German and English (written and spoken)
• High resilience, strong adherence to deadlines, and a solution-oriented mindset
• Willingness to undertake regular business travel
