Role Description

The Production Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing production processes to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards. This role involves managing production schedules, overseeing materials and resources, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining workflow efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and skilled at balancing operational priorities with quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day production activities, ensuring smooth operations from planning to final output.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and efficiency targets.
  • Collaborate with procurement, design, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure materials and resources are available.
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Track production performance metrics, analyze variances, and prepare reports for management.
  • Assist in cost control initiatives by monitoring resource usage, waste reduction, and process optimization.
  • Support equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Manage communication with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to coordinate timely deliveries and quality compliance.
  • Ensure proper documentation of production processes, quality checks, and operational reports.
  • Conduct inspections and assist in resolving quality-related issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance product consistency, workflow, and output efficiency.
  • Support training initiatives for production staff and ensure adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in production operations, manufacturing coordination, or quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, workflow management, and process optimization.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to production operations.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and results-driven professional with a focus on operational excellence.
