Sourcing Specialist - DE - Besigheim

 Summary

This role is central to driving innovation by embedding sourcing expertise early in product development. It covers both in-house manufactured products and externally sourced finished goods, requiring strategic supplier selection and strong negotiation skills. The position involves close collaboration with global teams across R&D, Product Management, Quality, and Production to ensure smooth material flow from prototype to serial production.

Beyond sourcing, the role supports global procurement efforts and strengthens supplier relationships across EMEA. Locally, it also oversees facility management at the Besigheim site, coordinating service providers and ensuring infrastructure quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to new product developments by integrating sourcing activities early in the project phase

• Responsibility for two development pathways:
o In-house product developed and manufactured at our global production sites
o Purchased finished goods sourced externally from strategic suppliers

• Identify, evaluate, and develop suitable suppliers for components, materials, and finished goods

• Conduct cost analyses, benchmark offers, and lead negotiations within NPD projects

• Collaborate closely with R&D, Product Management, Quality, and our Production teams globally

• Ensure availability of materials and products from prototype stage through to serial production

• Build long-term, sustainable supplier partnerships 

• Support Global Sourcing activities especially on purchased finished goods and support our global production sites in working with EMEA suppliers

• Oversee Facility Management at the Besigheim site related to external service providers and infrastructure (e.g., building services, maintenance, waste management), including coordination, contract management, and quality monitoring

Critical Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable qualification

• 3-5 years professional experience in strategic sourcing, ideally in a technology-driven company

• Strong technical understanding and familiarity with both in-house production processes and purchased finished goods

• Strong communication skills, team spirit, and a proactive, independent working style

• Excellent German and English language skills

• Spanish and/or Chinese language skills are a plus, but not required
