Role Description

The Investment Banking Analyst supports senior bankers in executing financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and strategic advisory projects. This role involves performing in-depth financial analysis, valuation modeling, market research, and preparing presentation materials for clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. This position provides exposure to complex financial deals and a strong foundation for a career in investment banking, corporate finance, or financial advisory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and leveraged buyout (LBO) models.
  • Conduct industry and company research to support client presentations and transaction execution.
  • Prepare pitch books, investment memoranda, and presentation materials for client meetings and internal discussions.
  • Assist in the due diligence process by analyzing financial statements, operational data, and legal documents.
  • Support the execution of transactions, including drafting documentation, coordinating with external advisors, and managing timelines.
  • Monitor financial markets, industry trends, and relevant economic indicators to identify potential opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior bankers to develop strategic recommendations and solutions for clients.
  • Maintain financial databases and assist in benchmarking and analysis of market data.
  • Review and verify financial information to ensure accuracy and integrity in all deliverables.
  • Participate in client calls, meetings, and presentations, providing analytical and technical support.
  • Support post-transaction activities, including integration planning, performance tracking, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, financial consulting, or related roles (internship experience acceptable for entry-level).
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with financial databases and tools such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or PitchBook.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing financial and presentation materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client service.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as CFA (Level I/II) or FMVA are advantageous but not required.
