Your Role

As Senior Safety Engineer, you will combine deep technical expertise with leadership responsibility. In this position, you will lead and perform safety activities for both established aircraft programs and new-generation technologies such as eVTOL systems.

You will work according to international aerospace development and certification standards, contribute to the continuous improvement of safety methodologies and digital processes, and represent AEMS in interactions with customers and authorities. The role offers a high level of autonomy and may include representing company leadership in selected situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, FTA, CCA, FMEA)

• Ensure compliance with ARP4754A, ARP4761, SC-VTOL, and related frameworks

• Develop and evolve safety methodologies, including model-based and interactive approaches

• Represent AEMS in customer and authority discussions

• Mentor engineering staff and foster analytical excellence

• Assume temporary executive or program-representative responsibilities as required

• Coordinate safety activities and customer engagements in Europe and beyond

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering

15+ years of experience in System Safety, RAMS, or Systems Engineering within aerospace

•
Profound knowledge of ARP4754A, ARP4761, and SC-VTOL safety-assessment frameworks

•
Solid understanding of DO-178C, DO-254, and EASA/FAA certification practices

•
Experience with reliability and maintainability standards (e.g. MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-882, etc.)

•
Excellent analytical judgment and structured reasoning

•
Excellent English (written & spoken)

•
Proficient German (written & spoken)

•
Legally eligible and willing to travel within and outside Europe

•
Excellent communication and representation skills at senior technical and management level

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in organizational leadership or as management representative

• Creative, solution-oriented thinker with a holistic view of safety and systems

• Familiarity with digital certification and model-based safety environments

• PPL or equivalent flight experience is considered an advantage
