Your mission
Support Emidat's growth by rotating through three commercial functions (customer success, account executive, sales development). Get a full picture of customer-facing teams in startups and leverage the insights.
As our
Climate Associate
(all genders), you will rotate through three roles:
- 3 months: Support our
customer success team
with onboardings, LCA handovers, process building and upsells - 3 months: Support our
account executive team
with demos, contracts and closing - 3 months: Be a self-reliant
business development representative
, Emidat's first face to the customer, go to conferences, build partnerships, call people, send emails
Afterwards: We will together work through which role fits you best. This can either be one of the roles you already worked in with the potential to later lead a team since you got a full picture of the commercial function, or a "special project" role like exploring a new persona / problem within our ICP together with product.
This role is perfect if you want to explore hands-on startup work without immediately committing to one role, and if you are passionate about connecting with people to understand and solve their challenges. Your work will directly shape how Emidat attracts and engages customers, making you a key contributor to our success. You will be supported by mentors such as Mathias, who built the revenue engine at the German unicorn Forto.
We seek a highly proactive, structured and results-driven individual passionate about building relationships and driving customer impact. The ideal candidate should thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
--- Your first 3 months at Emidat (sample) ---
Any Emidavinci starts with a detailed 3-month OKR sheet, which helps to build clarity and accountability from day 1. This is only a high-level overview how this can look like as a Sales Development Executive, but you will find many of the points on your 3-month list in your first week again.
Deeply understand our customer and market
- Customer Mastery: Call customers, attend conferences and deeply understand our target customers.
- Discovery Calls: Conduct your first discovery calls and schedule at least 20 demos
- Demo Shadowing: Shadow at least 10 demos to learn how we close deals.
Improve our customer success process
- Tool Understanding: Learn what tools we use in sales and customer success
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement at least three improvements to workflows based on performance data
Plan and conduct your own outbound campaigns
- Campaign Ownership: Design your own outbound campaign (incl. list, workflows and sequences). Plan and own 3 campaigns in total
- RevOps: Analyze and improve email open/reply rates (target: 25%+ open rate, 5%+ reply rate)
- Outbound prospecting: Execute on the campaigns (e.g. follow-up with calls, send emails/LinkedIn requests)
Own your first customer accounts
- Onboarding: Conduct at least 3 onboardings and support customers with their questions
- Product Feedback: Prepare product feedback based on customer interactions to continuously improve
- LCA Handover: Prepare LCA handover to implement new customer requirements
Support and help scale the CS team
- Onboarding Improvement: Streamline onboarding for future Climate Associates by commenting on and improving our onboarding material.
- (Potentially) Start leading: Start leading interns and working students to potentially grow into a team leadership role in the future.
