About the opportunity

The EMEA Senior Employment Counsel will work closely with our global Legal Team and be a key colleague of the People team. You will serve as the primary legal advisor on employment law-related issues and be a consultant and investigator on escalated employee relations matters. This role will also help establish employment law-related considerations while leading more complex, high-risk employee relations cases. You will report to the VP & Deputy General Counsel, Corporate.

What to expect?
- Provide practical advice on employment issues such as recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, conduct issues, compensation, benefits, terminations, and inclusion and diversity programs across multiple countries in EMEA.
- Handle internal dispute resolution and employment-related litigation.
- Manage outside counsel handling employment and non-employment litigation.
- Advise on employee administrative interactions, organizational matters, and engagement with relevant organizations.
- Assist with employer of record and professional employer organization matters.
- Oversee and advise on expansion and mobility matters.
- Support the People Team in building and improving People processes and policies.
- Act as an escalation point for performance management, accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, and incentive compensation.
- Lead internal investigations and provide recommendations for the resolution of escalated employee relations cases.
- Support the implementation of ethics compliance-related policies and controls.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop employment-related policies and guidelines.
- Draft and revise employment-related templates, employee handbooks, and work rules.
- Stay up-to-date with legal developments and ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Incorporate industry best practices and learnings into our employment and compliance practices.
- Support merger and acquisition transactions and the integration of employees.
- Work on cross-functional projects and initiatives internationally.
- Design and lead training events on employment law and compliance.

What you need to be successful?
- Qualified lawyer in at least one EMEA jurisdiction
- 6+ years of employment law experience, including 2+ years in-house in an international, fast-growing company
- Experience advising on employment and labor law matters in one or more of Germany, the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, or Denmark
- Demonstrated ability to manage legal risks and resolve disputes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience advising on works council matters and managing employment litigation
- Independent, self-starter, highly responsive and positive, service-oriented attitude
- Strong investigative, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to ethical standards
- Fluency in English, additional European language skills are advantageous
