**Global Head of Credit Risk - Lending** The mission of SumUp's **Lending Tribe** to be the lending partner of choice of our micro & small merchants by providing them with access to capital to grow their businesses. As the Head of Credit Risk in this green-field team you'll report to our Global Lending Tribe Lead, and play the leading role in designing and managing our credit risk strategies globally. You will work with a cross-functional team to bring transparent, affordable and seamless lending products to millions of micro and small merchants across our 30+ markets. **What you'll do** - Lead a comprehensive credit risk strategy for SumUp's global lending portfolio and design policies and underwriting journeys to maximise access to credit to our customer base. These policies will be designed to serve to our Merchant Cash Advance model, but should in the future support us to fuel other lending models as: revolving credit lines, business loans, BNPL, and credit cards; - Develop credit analytics, statistical and machine learning models to access the credit worthiness of individual entrepreneurs and small business; - Monitor portfolio KPIs, as well as market, regulatory and macroeconomic trends impacting loan performance and delinquency levels. Drive adjustments to our underwriting and origination strategies to mitigate risk; - Lead and build a high performing "founding" team of risk analysts and data scientists in a boot environment; - Interact with our external investors across the globe, so they understand our credit risk strategies and performance. **Requirements**: - You have a solid track-record around credit modeling; policy and credit portfolio management; and, a good understanding of accounting and provisioning regulation (IFRS9); - 3+ year leading a credit risk analytics team; - You get excited about building a business from scratch in a boot environment; have hands-on experience in conducting analysis independently; and combine excellent problem-solving and the ability to set priorities based on value delivery, with a frugal and pragmatic approach; - You excel in effective communication and stakeholder management: able to explain complex topics in a simple concise way for non-specialists and influence across different levels; **Nice to have**: - You have credit risk experience in markets as LatAm and Europe; - You have experience working for fintech hyper-growth companies (plus, but not limited to); - You're well versed with modern data architecture: cloud data warehouse technologies; feature building, statistical modeling, and ML-based risk models; **Why you should join SumUp** - We're a truly global team of people from 60+ countries, spread across 3 continents - You will receive a competitive salary in addition to an attractive Virtual Stock Options package - You will be based in the heart of vibrant Berlin, one of Europe's leading tech hubs - We offer an attractive tenure based sabbatical program - We use our Berlin HQ to foster the community by coming together regularly for brunches, cocktail nights, rooftop drinks, sports, and yoga **About SumUp** - We believe in the everyday hero._ - Small business owners are at the heart of all we do, so we're creating tools that help them run their businesses.
