For our Unit **Life Global Claims** we are looking for a dedicated **(Senior) Global Claims Executive (d/f/m)** to strengthen our team in **Cologne (other European locations also possible)** as early as possible.
Your Role
- Support the Global Chief Claims Officer, Segment Claims Officers, their branches’ department and client’s investigation or coaching / mentoring on claims in all ranges of complexity with accurate and efficient adjudication of claims to ensure compliance with policy provisions, the various regulator environments, and reinsurance treaties in effect.
- Participation in international client / TPA due diligence activities such as conducting audits, identifying emerging trends and themes; sharing industry gleaned best practices via building and delivering customer specific training programs and seminars; emphasizing and implementing technical solutions to business needs to achieve desired improvements.
- Work with the Global Chief Claims Officer to develop and execute a claims management strategy for each assigned segment client.
- Monitor international verdict / settlement trends and legal developments pertaining to the industry, specifically by researching, writing, and publishing blogs, articles and trainings oriented to educating the branches and their clients on best practices gleaned.
- Represent the claims functional discipline in R&D activities and use your market expertise to contribute to claims related innovation projects, as well as discipline for the Business School.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting / projects from the Global Chief Claims Officer, such as timely and accurate reporting of statistical information and provide a broad of range of regular (monthly/quarterly) management information in support of Global Claims.
- Responsible for collaborating with our international P&C claims colleagues for best practice sharing opportunities and participate in meetings with prospective account.
- Deliver “value added” service to branches and Regions and their client companies, enabling them to improve their technical expertise and operational performance.
Your Profile
- Experience in managing claims in (re‑) insurance operations thereby the ability to assess reinsurer’s responsibility in its broadest sense (e.g., reviewing and offering risk management insights and recommendations on facultative and consultative claims submissions)
- Experience in emphasizing and implementing claims solutions to help GRL Branches and its clients manage risk and develop in‑depth knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of multiple coverage lines (Individual Disability, Group Disability, Individual Life, Group Life, Long Term Care, Critical Illness, Medicare Supplement)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in at least one other language aside from English (Spanish, French or German preferable) and a strong team player
- Proven critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis / judgement and sound decision making with attention to details
- Flexibility to travel for business purposes, as well as a strong client relationship, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Imaging, scanning, developing, and running queries
- Maintaining a working knowledge of international / statutory / federal / regulatory / privacy and other legal / compliance state and federal regulatory issues (e.g., state specific and SSDI updates) and keeping on the cutting edge of changes within the industry crossing multiple products
- Delivering high levels of customer service to internal and external customers in a professional, reliable, and responsive manner
