Your Tasks: To optimize cost efficiency, security and sustainability, IONOS uses a global portfolio of data centers, of which ˜10 are owned and ˜20 are rented, housing ˜100.000 servers for the operation of its cloud platforms. We are looking for a strategic and passionate leader to own and develop this portfolio further in a team of ˜10 colleagues (including IT platforms) and leading 5-10 team leads with the following responsibilities: - 24x7 Operation of the Data Centers. - 24x7 Operation of the physical lifecycle of IT equipment. - Ensuring the security for the DC environment by supporting the Information Security Management System. - Supporting certifications e.g. ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, IT Grundschutz, C5 etc. - Ownership of the Energy Management System based on ISO 50001. - Ownership of the Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001 (in development). - Proactive Cost/Risk management. We Appreciate: For the Head of TechOps Data Centers, we are looking for a senior leader, still with feet on the ground: - Strategic leader, owning a longterm DC strategy and translating it into the tactical plane ("We get things done") in line with IT and company strategy/tactics. - Highly structural thinking/acting to analyze, manage and optimize a highly complex technical environment. - >10 years experience in running large scale DC or IT environments (thousands of servers, hundreds of racks, MWs of power). - Operating in large scale companies (thousands of employees) with according corporate structure/processes. - Long term experience in working in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment. - Very proficient in English in speaking/writing, able to negotiate with native speakers. - Team player (e.g. with colleagues leading network and IT departments) and service provider (e.g. optimizing DCs for the products/customers, not in itself). - Willing to travel internationally on a monthly base. - Understands the critical role of data centers with regards to the environment and is willing to strategically minimize their impact. - Scientific degree optional but preferred.
