Associate - Stoxx Benchmarks Strategy

We are currently looking for an Associate to join our STOXX Strategy Team within the Product Index Division in either Eschborn, Germany or London, UK. The team plays a key role in the product organization of Qontigo: Its core responsibility is to ensure the integrity of the entire STOXX index portfolio, such as the EURO STOXX 50, STOXX Europe 600 and STOXX World.

To make this happen, the team is continuously involved in all steps of the product lifecycle from ideation to implementation to go life, as well as to product closure. We also maintain a close relationship with the senior management of the major shareholder Deutsche Börse and external investment professionals.

**Responsibilities**

As part of the STOXX Benchmarks Strategy team, your responsibility will be:

- Stay close to the market and identify/detect new trends in the financial markets and index industry
- Understand the integrity of existing index concepts and the suitability of new
- Prepare, present and run market consultations of our existing index concepts
- Challenge the status quo: Define and enhance the index methodology, in line with the stated objectives and in compliance with the existing regulations (BMR, UCITS)
- Compile internal index specification documentation for methodology changes and guide through the entire decision-making lifecycle
- Perform market / environmental assessments and competitor benchmarking
- Support on ad-hoc quantitative back-test of indices
- Support Product Management to create sales training presentations and pitch books

**Requirements**:
Your profile:

- Relevant fields of study are either economics, mathematics, finance or another related discipline
- An M.Sc. degree in the relevant field with at least 1-2 years of experience or a B.Sc. degree with 3-4 years of experience preferably in consulting / the financial services industry with an understanding of capital markets, indices, ETFs, and/or structured products
- Sound programming skills in either VBA and/or Python
- Experience of working with databases and large data sets
- Good knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate and deliver on projects involving different internal and/or external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong communication, interpersonal, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Think out of the box and be open-minded
- Proficiency in English is mandatory, fluent German is highly beneficial
