We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As Head Legal and Compliance DACH, you will be a member of Alcon’s DACH Management Team and the European legal leadership team.

You will receive support and direction from the Head of Legal and Compliance Europe and provide strategic, organizational and legal guidance. This position is based in Freiburg, Germany. In this role, a typical day will include:

- Providing strategic and legal advice in all matters that are relevant to the two franchises (Surgical and Vision Care) in Germany, Switzerland and Austria represented by the three local legal entities. This includes contracts, corporate housekeeping, project related work, restructuring, considering and addressing legal trends and risks in the business strategy, including advising on anti-trust, and handling data privacy and litigation matters.
- Closely working with and advising DACH managing directors and representing Alcon Legal to outside stakeholders, in particular the government and industry associations.
- Developing and managing the country outside counsel panel and managing closely the legal budget and spend.
- Together with the Alcon Germany Compliance Officer, establishing, promoting, and reinforcing compliance standards, aligned with local laws and regulations and company-wide compliance policies.
- Training of local staff in key legal and compliance areas and championing an ethical tone throughout the organization. Conducting compliance-related risk assessments and developing measures to self-monitor the compliance program in the country, and implementing corrective actions, if necessary.

What you’ll bring to Alcon:

- University degree and bar admission Germany
- Extensive experience in legal practice (8+ years)
- Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical or medical device industry and customer needs with an ability to deduce the implications for Alcon and implement solutions
- Speak up culture, persuasive negotiator and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent German and English skills
