Information Technology Specialist

**Duties**: - Provide technical oversight of Information Technology platforms selected and utilized in the design and construction of Integrated Infrastructure backbones that support Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) activities. - Recommend solutions to operational problems, reviews new telecommunications techniques, establishes criteria, develops standard operating procedures (SOP) and develops new IT methodology and approaches to solving problems. - Provide technical planning guidance to the Signal Battalion on emerging technologies and the impact these technologies could have on existing base operations in United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF). - Develop policy and guidelines in accordance with (IAW) Department of Defense (DoD) and Army directives, regulations, and operational and technical manuals pertaining to command and control (C2) and telecommunications systems and programs. - Review and monitor development plans for the installation, modification, rehabilitation and removal of complex state-of-the-art telecommunications and IT systems. - Provide policy guidance and assists users in defining requirements. - Prepare and modify statements of work (SOW) for the operation and testing of telecommunication and information equipment and systems. **Requirements**: **Conditions of Employment**: - You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. - Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. - One year trial/probationary period may be required. - Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19. - This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis. - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access for the duration of employment. - This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed ?Unscheduled Telework?. - This is a drug testing position.
