**THE POSITION**:
The Head of HR for the Germany and Austria business acts as a true HR business partner, adviser and enabler in all areas of the business. The Head of HR supports the Midway Europe HR Director (based in the UK) and Regional Director for Germany & Austria and Midway Germany and Austria Midway Management teams to lead, develop and engage their team members to deliver the Midway Europe business plan and drive HR KPI’s;
- To build strong working partnership with the Regional Director for Midway Germany & Austria in order to drive an open and collaborative culture across the region.,
- To partner with the attraction General Managers, acting as a trusted advisor and guide in all Human Resources matters
- Build relationships with key managers and acts as an influential and trusted business partner. Using these relationships to deliver the HR strategy and drive improved business performance.
- Together with their team provide full HR support to managers and employees across Midway Germany and Austria
- Together with their team provide impellent strategies for the region that enhance the overall employee experience for our teams
- To lead communication and engagement with relevant works councils ensuring that the company fulfils its legal obligations

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Deliver the Midway Europe People Plan to enable our teams to achieve their business objectives in all attractions and within the Germany and Austria region
- Coach, support and influence key stakeholders
- Upskill and guide GMs and other people managers in all areas of employee relations, talent and performance management
- Champion and drive key HR initiatives, both local and Group-wide
- Act as the internal expert in local employment law, managing employee relations issues with a commercial and pragmatic approach
- Manage the relationship between Merlin Entertainments Group Deutschland GmbH and relevant works councils and trades unions striving to achieve outcomes mutually beneficial to the company and its employees
- Work with the wider HR team to ensure the offer of an integrated and effective HR service and support to the business
- Line management of HR Manager, HR Advisor and HR Business Partner

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**:

- You have a proven track record in building effective relationships with complex and dispersed stakeholder groups and managing the delivery of HR strategies
- You have excellent business partnering skills - HR and/or employee relations Business Partnering background and experience; the ability to interpret business needs, and translate into solutions
- You have excellent commercial acumen - evidence of understanding, articulating and supporting business strategy
- You have advanced stakeholder skills - a proven ability to coach, facilitate and influence from front line employee to senior leader level
- You have demonstrated experience in delivering work and projects in complex environments with an ability to simplify that complexity to deliver positive outcomes
- You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in both German and English
- You make an effort to stay current with contemporary thinking and are willing to challenge beliefs and traditional approaches to drive a higher quality organisational performance and culture
- You are a strong HR All-rounder and generalist
- You have the ability to seek solutions
- You are proficient in MS Office and HR systems
