**Job Description**:
METRO’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy is the key driver to realize sustainable business approaches throughout the whole organization. The closer to our business, the easier to understand, the better we take everyone with us on this journey. At the same time, transparency about the ESG strategy and management of related issues and respective data is a key driver for trusted stakeholder relations - from investors over banks to authorities and supply chain partners.
As Head of ESG Management in the Corporate Responsibility & Public Policy Department you are a strategic, solution-oriented thinker who is excited about finding answers to complex questions, thus being the key in moving our ESG strategy forward, closely aligned with business and always aware of external requirements.
In this context, your responsibilities will include
- Keeping track of ESG priorities realization and respective alignment with internal stakeholders
- Alignment of our ESG strategy with sCore
- Coordination of ESG processes with a high diversity of stakeholders within METRO
- Streamlining existing ESG processes for efficient, business-oriented management of our ESG priorities and targets across the organization
- Streamlining external requirements as e.g. new regulations and setting up respective policies, workstreams and capabilities with internal stakeholders and take maintain appropriate implementation within METRO
- Supervising effectiveness of implemented ESG Management systems
- Coordination of external ESG reporting projects that meet external stakeholder requirements (as e.g. rating agencies)
- Setting up KPIs and reporting guidelines together with internal stakeholders as in particular Corporate Controlling
- Reporting regularly about progress, challenges and decisions to be taken to the Management Board of METRO AG, the Supervisory Board of METRO AG
- Cooperation with external stakeholders such as auditors
**Qualifications**:
- University degree in business administration or similar
- Relevant professional experience in ESG Management and Advisory
- Sound understanding of wholesale operations, supporting implementation of ESG management together with business functions.
- Sound understanding of corporate processes.
- Motivation for sustainability management and respective business transformation
- Advanced communication skills engaging a diversity of stakeholders
- Strategic mindset and conceptual skill-set. High solution-orientation and pragmatic way of thinking.
- Ability to inspire and collboration skills with an interest in the diverse needs of stakeholders to be addressed for aligning effective ways of management
- Independent way of working with high commitment
- Capability to steer topics forward even in difficult situations.
- Experiences in managing and developing a team and
- Ability to express oneself fluently (written, verbally) in English and ideally also in German
