Our Hardware Systems team works across the full music production and DJ product portfolio and the new and exciting features that will bring our hardware systems to the next level. From UX and industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, embedded software development, HW-QA to packaging - this team is responsible for maintaining and pushing the boundaries of the development of high-quality systems.
As the **Systems Engineering Team Lead (all genders) **for** **Hardware Systems** **you will work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to develop systems that bring inspiring and accessible experiences to our users, giving creators access to the tools they need and the communities they belong to. You will lead a team through the entire development process to production start. You will work from our office in Berlin, Kreuzberg in a multicultural and creative environment.
**What You'll Do**
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of system architectures across each project to ensure the technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements are delivered adequately
- Lead a team of Electrical and Embedded Software Engineers working on the innovation, development, and sustaining of Hardware Systems.
- Work with project managers, product managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to conduct a systemic breakdown of each project and provide technical and cross-functional clarity on the expected operation of each module of work and derive traceable system requirements and risks
- Evaluate system alternatives including cost, risk, serviceability, and other analyses
- Oversee the system definition, integration, verification, and validation processes
- Support the project manager by establishing clear technical goals for the team and by developing strategies to ensure timely execution
- Be proactive about challenges and constraints within a project in order to manage them accordingly
- Establish milestones for necessary contributions between departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical maturity of your team in a healthy and sustainable way.
- Build a collaborative, inclusive and respectful engineering team.
**What You'll Need**:
- Proven experience as systems engineer and/or at a multidisciplinary engineering role developing engineering solutions, system designs including hardware, test specifications, as well as conducting technical feasibility assessments for development and production.
- Proven experience in Technical Product Ownership, collaborating with Product Management to define product requirements and to translate them into technical requirements
- Proven track record as an Engineering Leader, overseeing the work and collaboration of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and decision making skills
- Familiarity with Embedded systems and consumer electronics
- Strong business mindset as well as leadership and project management skills
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field. Advanced degree is a plus
- Experience as a people manager in tech, leading, coaching and mentoring Hardware Engineers is a strong plus.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred).
- Fluency in English is required for this role. German is a strong plus.
