As part of our ongoing and continued transformation journey, we are looking for a Head of Innovation and Sustainability to join our team in Düsseldorf. A key role within the C&A organization, you will have the opportunity to drive strategic thinking from a consumer and industry perspective on how to achieve Best in Class Sustainable, Environmental, Ethical and Innovative ways to meet consumers needs. You will align this strategic mindset with a strong emphasis on implementation and showing by example how to lead change. It is not a consultative role or a-non accountable role; we see this role as being a key partner as part of the C&A Range and Sourcing Organisation.

As Head of Sustainability & Innovation you will be given the opportunity to:

- Lead a team of independent thinkers who are pivotal to helping C&A achieve its status as “caring for both the people and the planet”.
- Develop, drive and execute the C&A Sustainability Strategy roadmap according to the corporate strategy across product, environment, consumer and industry touch points
- Manage Sustainability-related projects in close cooperation with the cross-functional teams, along with further development of innovative topics and implementation of concrete projects
- Engage key internal and external stakeholders; Establishing and maintaining contacts with external bodies, NGOs and networks, whilst also aligning internal stakeholders with the larger Innovation Strategy to ensure impact is felt throughout C&A
- Create an environment in which individuals and teams work together, engage and guide others in developing and sharing knowledge

We would love to speak to those with a blend of the following:

- Proven leadership within large, multi-functional retail organisations. Ability to influence and inspire teams to support the Sustainability mindset in an innovative way
- Strong ability to develop and drive the C&A Sustainability Strategy across product, environment, consumer and industry touch points
- Hands-on mentality, a creative and innovative mindset, and entrepreneurial spirit with a high motivation to build, develop and lead within a large organization
- Sound knowledge of têxtile value chain as sourcing and supply chain, buying and merchandising, stores and selling desired
- Knowledge of innovation trends impacting retail as Digitization, Traceability, 3D Design, Material Innovation, Robotics and Automation
