For our division **Global Logistics**, at our location in **Vettelschoss** we are looking for a

**Head of Transportation & Shipping**

Key responsibilities:

- Manage and develop the service provider network in terms of performance, transformation, digitalization and spending
- Build strong partnerships and productive business relations with internal and external stakeholders
- Optimize cost structures and manage risks in cooperation with the finance and controlling teams
- Initiate, prepare and execute complex tenders, negotiate competitive contracts, and prepare final sign-offs
- Co-orchestrate the group-wide network strategy with a global perspective to improve and develop BIRKENSTOCK’s network
- Constantly screen and analyze the transportation market to identify common opportunities and future partners
- Manage the commercial shipping and dispatch area and ensure timely outbound flows and compliant customs declarations
- Lead and develop the team members of the transportation management and shipping department
- Active implementation and control of as well as participation in logistics projects within the BIRKENSTOCK organization
- Monitoring and further development of the shipping processes including KPI analyses and reporting

Knowledge + skills:

- Background and extensive experience in transportation services, logistics + distribution processes and supply chain management with related cost driver understanding
- Strong ability to analyze and challenge solution design and cost of transportation to allow the preparation of fact-based decision models
- Good analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Action
- and solution-oriented team player with high degree of self-confidence, extensive leadership skills, and role model potential

**Requirements**:

- University degree in the areas of Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Economics
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a functional area of transportation or 3PL management related to sea + air + road services (FCL, LCL, FTL, groupage, parcel)
- Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience in a management position within logistics
- Fluent in German + English, spoken and written
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- SAP knowledge and interface management is an asset
