European Tax Specialist

**About The Role**

We are looking for a European Tax Specialist to help us during one of the biggest transformations in the group's history. Last year we were one of the two substantial businesses acquired by DP World, one of the world’s largest logistics companies. To help develop a single, uniform business across the region we have embarked on a transformation programme that will involve HR, IT, operations and finance amongst other departments. To help support this transformation programme we are looking for an expert within tax jurisdictions and European tax law to help us build the legal entities that will encompass our work in Europe.

You will be directly reporting to the CFO in Europe and working in close collaboration with the head office tax team in Dubai. You will project manage the transformation of this programme working with a cross functional team providing your advice and guidance on how to best set up these entities.

The region covers countries from the UK all the way to Turkey and has a number of very distinct business units that have worked relatively independently up until now. You will initially be tasked with understanding how the current tax regimes work in each of the business units by working with local stakeholders.

You will then work closely with the regional and global finance team to help define the make up of the new legal entities across the region. This definition of the entities will take into account tax regimes as well as legal considerations. This role will define how the region will look from a legal entity point of view and will have an impact on the organisation for years to come.

**Because of the nature of the project, this will be a temporary role for 1 year.**

- The preferred hiring location for this position is UK, Netherlands or Germany;
- It's a full-time, remote/hybrid position; occasional travel does occur.

**Who Are We Looking For?**
- An experienced tax or legal specialist who has experience of advising and creating legal company entities;
- Extensive experience of working with multinationals who have gone through mergers and acquisitions;
- Experience of working on Europe wide transformation programmes;
- The ability to ‘influence without power’;
- A strong project manager who can juggle multiple deadlines and is committed to completing projects on time and within budget;
- Strong leadership experience and ability to drive a project within an organisation who have multiple priorities.
