Global Specialty insurance holds a leading position in the aviation and space insurance markets; within that department, Aviation Direct is responsible for the worldwide direct aviation business. Our clients are airlines, aircraft manufacturers, leasing companies and general aviation business. Aviation Direct acts de facto as a primary insurer in an exciting specialty market environment.

As an addition to our team of recognised experts, we are currently looking for a committed and motivated underwriter for our growing business portfolio. Your field of activities is varied and encompasses not only underwriting but also managing our clients and brokers.

Your job
- Underwriting the assigned portfolio (i.e. worldwide aviation business)
- Executing our underwriting strategy and actively generating new business
- Optimising top
- and bottom-line results for assigned clients by offering the most adequate solution based on risk analysis and pricing assessment
- Managing clients and key accounts for large airlines; understanding their risk landscape and finding opportunities for new business solutions and risk management offerings based on this; taking a lead role in large and complex client projects
- Developing and maintaining a strategic dialogue with broking houses in London and the US as our business producers
- Observing and analysing the aviation market and industry trends, updating the underwriting policy and pricing parameters; ensuring underwriting and pricing quality and efficient business workflows
- Helping ensure opinion leadership internally and externally; building up, retaining and transferring know-how in your field of responsibility
- Ensuring cross-line interaction and collaboration beyond our divisional unit

**Profile**:

- University degree or equivalent with relevant international underwriting experience
- Good understanding of risk assessment, pricing and wording of (primary) insurance contracts
- Business mindset; excellent negotiating skills and assertiveness, particularly with regard to dealing with brokers
- Strong client focus and the ability to identify clients’ needs and transform these into viable concepts and profitable business
- Solution-focused approach combined with the ability to build valuable relationships
- Genuine, collaborative, team-oriented working approach
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Willingness to take on responsibility and make decisions
- Fluent business English
- Willingness to travel
