Head of Operations

What we do

Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based multi-million revenue AI startup with around 50 full-time employees focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through B2B solutions, as well as publicly funded research projects. We work across several domains, including automotive, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and many more, transforming businesses as an external machine learning department. We achieve this using our core expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.

Your role

We are looking for a Head of Finance and Operations who will be working directly with the founder to build and manage the financial, legal and operational backbone of our organization for scale; ensuring operational excellence. You will have an outsized impact, shaping the company through your efforts, experience and industry expertise.

Your Responsibilities will include:

- Own the company’s financials and partner with the leadership to develop and execute a sustainable long term financial plan
- Own the company's core finance, controlling, budgeting and accounting processes
- Reporting and governance: prepare investor reportings and supervisory board meetings
- Drive the standardization of key business processes and quality assurance
- Strategically architect and control core business KPIs
- Develop an understanding of our legal affairs and manage compliance in areas such as data protection and certifications and establish key processes
- Ensure successful people operations including recruiting, HR products and payroll
- Ensure effective performance management e.g. through the OKR cycle
- Team scaling: build and manage a team for the operations functions
- Partner management: architect, implement and manage partner relationships e.g for distribution or technical implementation partnerships in coordination with respective teams
- Architecting the expansion of the organization to new locations

**Profile**:

- Required: BA/BS in business or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Masters or MBA a plus
- Significant experience in finance, accounting or legal with at least 5+ years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in building teams/organizations in fast-growing startup(s)
- Entrepreneurial drive, willingness to take responsibility, high ambition, and the ability to achieve goals collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication (DE/EN) and interpersonal skills in order to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
