**To support our team in Leverkusen, we’re currently looking for a Part-Time**
**Veterinarian (M/F/d)**: who enjoys working hands-on with animals while also serving as a trusted advisor to colleagues and researchers.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Responsible for the health and well-being of our animals (mice), ensuring the highest standards of veterinary care.
- Advise management and animal facility teams on welfare matters, including surgical procedures, anesthesia, analgesia, and biosecurity.
- Manage the veterinary pharmacy and facilitate internal training for technical staff.
- Act as a key contact for regulatory authorities and oversee compliance with all applicable animal welfare legislation.
- Take a lead role in accreditation needs with preparing AAALAC program description and site visits, including documentation, facility readiness, and team awareness.
- Lead the Animal Welfare Body (AWB) meetings.
- After onboarding and obtaining the necessary qualifications, assume the role of Animal Welfare Officer (AWO).

**What you bring to the team**:

- A degree in Veterinary Medicine and valid license to practice in Germany.
- Ideally, further qualification in Laboratory Animal Science (e.g., Specialist Vet or EU Function A, B, D) - or willingness to obtain it.
- Sound knowledge of German animal welfare regulations and experience in laboratory animal care.
- Experience or strong interest in AAALAC accreditation processes and quality assurance is a plus.
- Fluency in German and good English skills to collaborate with both local and international colleagues.
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills and a commitment to animal welfare.
