What we do

Cambrium’s mission is to trigger the next wave of material innovation. We are leveraging the power of biotechnology to design and develop cutting-edge materials for a greener tomorrow. We enable new biomaterials in cosmetics, fashion and plastics by harnessing nature's building blocks. We have built a platform based on an automated laboratory, machine learning and synthetic biology to design and develop novel protein materials with enhanced chemical and physical properties.

Your role

We are looking for a Public Projects Manager to join our business and project management team to help us lead large, high profile and state-of-the-art research projects funded by the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg, the German national government and the European Commission.

**Profile**:
**What you can expect to do**:

- Scout, select and prioritize public funding opportunities - both national and international
- Drive the proposal process for Cambrium and work with our team to communicate our biotech/machine learning projects for publicly funded or other projects
- Supervise and coordinate work streams across our portfolio of public funding projects

together with engineering and business team to ensure on-time delivery
- Be responsible for required reporting for publicly-funded projects
- Manage billing and timesheets, ensuring conformity to relevant rules and regulations at

the local, national and EU level.
- Interface with Strategic Financial Planning and Reporting
- Are excited by technical solutions to the problems with the material world
- You like to work with numbers and spreadsheets
- Enjoy building robust processes and structures
- Have interest or experience in scaling a startup
- Have excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability

to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- Thrive in small teams to produce fast and effective results

**Your skills**:

- Experience in project coordination and stakeholder management
- Business proficiency in written and oral communication for both German and English
- Experience in working in the ecosystem of the public funding landscape (e.g.

Projektträger, project management offices, academic transfer centers) is preferable
- Experience in biology, chemistry or tech industry is attractive
- Experience in managing biotech/machine learning/software development projects is

attractive
