Patent Information is a huge publicly available data source. As part of our digitalization strategy within the enabling function PS Patents & Scientific Information Services we are now focusing on advanced data analytics. **Your role**: Unlocking the power of patent information as data source for AI analysis is our next challenge. Within the enabiling function PS (Patents and Scientific Information Services) you work on exploratory data analysis of patent and scientific data. You will act as the PS interface to the Business Sector data offices / Merck data lake regarding patent data and to software developers regarding our requirements. Educating our organization on data "savyness" as well as prototyping new tools and dashboards are further tasks. The position is located in Darmstadt, Germany. **Who You Are**: - MS in Physics, Informatics, Computer/Data Science, or related area - Minimum 1 year of work experience in data analytics, preferably 3 years - Practical programming experience in Python, R, Java, JavaScript or Matlab, SAS or C++ - Familiarity with tools for data science, such as data analysis, data processing, statistics, AI/ML, etc., and be able to use those tools to create dashboards and working prototypes for demonstration purpose - Ideally you have first experience in data analytics of patent information sources and related data structures.
