The Data And Analytics division (DAA1) is Munich Re's hub for data, analytics and AI-driven innovation and intelligence. DAA1 harnesses the power of big data, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive decision-making and improve operational efficiencies Our mission is to transform complex datasets into actionable insights, ensuring Munich Re remains at the cutting edge of the insurance industry.
Within DAA, the Artificial Intelligence department focuses on developing and deploying AI technologies across Munich Re's operations. Our main focus encompasses machine learning, natural language processing, predictive analytics, and AI-driven automation to improve decision-making, improve customer experiences, and optimize risk management. The department serves as a center of excellence, providing AI expertise, tools, and support to various business units within Munich Re.
The AI Implementation section is the execution arm of the Artificial Intelligence department, responsible for translating newest AI technology concepts into scalable, production-ready solutions. This section works closely with business units to understand their needs, designs AI systems to meet these requirements, and oversees the deployment and integration of AI technologies into business processes. Our aim is to operationalize AI innovations, integrating them into Munich Re’s business processes to drive efficiency, and improve decision-making.
**YOUR JOB**
As the Head of AI Implementation, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of AI at Munich Re. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, coach and develop the AI Implementation team, guiding projects from prototype to production with a focus on creating value through scalability, reliability, and impact.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across different departments to identify and prioritize AI implementation opportunities.
- Managing the deployment of AI solutions, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of quality and ethics, while also being aligned with Munich Re’s strategic objectives.
- Fostering a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging continuous learning and adaptation to emerging AI technologies and methodologies.
- Ensuring all AI implementations comply with relevant regulations and ethical guidelines, safeguarding Munich Re’s reputation and values.
- Tracking and reporting on the performance of AI implementations, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
**YOUR PROFILE**
We are looking for a colleague with:
- A strong foundation in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence, backed by a related Master’s degree or higher.
- Significant experience in leading AI projects, ideally within the insurance or financial services sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team of technical professionals, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Very good understanding of reinsurance and insurance operations and value chain, in particular underwriting and claims
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels and translating complex technical concepts into business context.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to align AI initiatives with broader business goals.
- A commitment to ethical AI use, with knowledge of relevant data protection and privacy laws.
- Excellent command of English, knowledge of German is a plus
- Very high level of commitment, creativity, ability to handle stress, willingness to travel
