Team Lead Accounting (m/w/d)

This position, the accounting specialist will be responsible for compliant reporting of local HGB and US GAAP. The position will functionally oversee all accounting tasks of the respective team members in AP, AR and general ledger accounting areas in Stuttgart and Hamburg.

Responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for the proper preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and US-GAAP, including the associated internal and external reporting- Specify and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounts and fixed assets- Develop and own the harmonization of accounting standards according to US GAAP as a standard setter- Creation and maintenance of an accounting manual for the BW Papersystems Germany (Hamburg and Stuttgart)- Introduce and monitor an EU harmonized chart of accounts and accounting instructions-
- Developing standard process for divisional and corporate financial reporting, deliverables and key performance indicators in adherence to established deadlines- Creation of booking instructions- Perform balance sheet reviews- Analysis of existing accounting processes to identify necessary adjustments in the company as well as development of new processes based on current requirements (e.g. changed market conditions, customer relationships, products, production processes)- Participation in the user-friendly implementation of accounting regulations at process level for all functional areas- Internal and external contact for US GAAP- Internal and external contact person for tax-related issues- Internal contact person within BW Papersystems Germany to clarify complex accounting treatments in coordination with Corporate as appropriate

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Finance / Accounting or comparable education- Several years of relevant professional experience in an audit or in a comparable position within an industrial company (in particular general ledger)- Experience and expertise in accounting as well as in-depth US-GAAP knowledge- Knowledge of accounting according to HGB and international accounting standards-
- Participation in project work- Structured, proactive independent and result-oriented way of working- Very good German and English skills (fluent in both languages)-
- Willingness to travel (Hamburg / Stuttgart)- High social and intercultural competence, ability to work in a team
