Change.org is searching for an Associate Campaigner in Germany. This exciting role mixes digital campaigning, storytelling, customer support and engagement tactics to advise hundreds of users on how to win their campaigns.
We're a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest non-profit owned tech platform focused on civic action with 80m monthly users, 50,000 campaigns launched on the site every month, and a revenue model that has grown by 500% in 2 years. We're growing quickly, and our users win campaigns for change once every hour. From strengthening hate crime legislation in South Africa; calling for Racial Justice in the US; fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil; to fighting violence against women in India.
**Main responsibilities**:

- **Identify compelling petitions started on Change.org in Germany and support the organizers to optimize their petition text, implement smart tactics **(from storytelling and social distribution to media and decision maker outreach.), **amplify these petitions to reach millions of potential supporters on Change.org and keep the pressure up until victory.**:

- **Design the necessary systems to support campaign organizers at scale.**:

- Participate in **innovative and discovery processes** that help learn and better understand how and what drives the **impact of organizers on the platform.**:

- Draft content for users and social media and press or support drafting these.

**Key Qualifications and Requirements**:

- You have some formal experience (at least 1-3 years) with grassroots campaigning/advocacy NGOs/journalism or have been an activist around a certain cause for several years already.
- You thrive on social media and have your finger on the pulse of what Germany is talking about online, in politics, and traditional media. You know how to make your content pop in a busy social feed.
- You have a good understanding of Germany's current social justice, economic, political and environmental issues.
- You can write newsletters that can inspire and move people to action. You've got a strong sense of narrative and user experience, and you can turn out compelling copy at short notice.
- You are data savvy and are able to work across formats with segmentation, analysis and reporting, in collaboration with analytics and strategy experts.
- A deep commitment to our mission of empowering people to win campaigns on what is important to them.
- You have a can-do, positive attitude, are self-motivated and keen to learn. You flourish working in a low-structure team environment and have a willingness to take risks, to fail, and to adapt. You're driven by results, and you're always curious about how to improve your work.
- You thrive working in a fast paced news or tech environment.
- You are low-ego and you've got a strong sense of fun and give-and-take - our small team is constantly pushing each other to challenge assumptions, go all-in, and imagine the impossible.
- Proficiency in German and fluency in English.
