**ABOUT**

Our client company, based in Stuttgart (Germany), specializes in the design and construction of lightweight structures integrating architecture and engineering, based of scientific research and mínimalistic forms in harmony with the ornamentation of buildings.

**ROLE**

The Technical Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the technical and engineering aspects of lightweight structures, facades, and innovative architectural projects. These individual drives the development of cutting-edge engineering solutions, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with the company's strategic goals. The Technical Director serves as the key technical authority, leading a multidisciplinary team and collaborating closely with clients, project stakeholders, and internal departments.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS**

1. Strategic Technical Leadership:

- Develop and articulate the company’s technical roadmap to support strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with evolving industry trends and business goals.
- Establish a clear framework for implementing technical innovation across projects, fostering a culture of forward-thinking and continuous improvement.
- Define technical performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of engineering processes and solutions.
- Represent the company in technical forums, conferences, and industry events to position it as a leader in lightweight structures and façade engineering.

2. Team Leadership and Development:

- Recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier technical talent, ensuring the team’s capabilities align with the company's needs.
- Regularly evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Lead regular technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions to encourage creativity and collaboration among the team.
- Act as a mentor to engineers and designers, fostering their career development and technical mastery.

3. Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance:

- Guide the design and execution of complex engineering projects, ensuring innovative yet practical solutions tailored to client needs.
- Review and approve project designs, structural analyses, material selections, and engineering calculations.
- Conduct regular audits of technical processes and deliverables to ensure compliance with quality standards and client expectations.
- Troubleshoot complex engineering issues and provide decisive solutions to overcome project challenges.

4. Innovation and Research:

- Lead research initiatives to explore new materials, construction methods, and technologies that align with the company’s vision for sustainable and innovative design.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and research bodies to stay at the forefront of industry developments.

5. Client and Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met through innovative engineering solutions.
- Participate in client meetings to present technical concepts, progress updates, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of technical solutions into overall project workflows.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment with project objectives.

6. Resource and Risk Management:

- Evaluate the technical resource needs for projects and allocate personnel, equipment, and tools efficiently.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential risks, including design flaws, material shortages, or unforeseen project delays.
- Ensure technical teams adhere to project schedules and budgets without compromising quality.
- Create frameworks to monitor technical project milestones, flagging and addressing any deviations proactively.

7. Compliance and Standards:

- Ensure all engineering and technical activities comply with relevant international, national, and local regulations, including Eurocodes, safety guidelines, and environmental standards.
- Develop internal standards and guidelines to streamline technical processes and enhance consistency across projects.
- Stay updated on changes in industry regulations and ensure their timely adoption across operations.
- Promote and integrate sustainable engineering practices into project designs, contributing to the company's commitment to environmental stewardship.
