Learning Experience Designer

We are looking for a** Learning Experience Designer **(LXD) to join our Learning Content Innovation's Experimentation Team to actively partner with our agile product development teams to lend fast and simple pedagogical expertise to cross-functional product development teams to enhance the quality and speed of product discovery and ensure we deliver high-quality and most effective language learning experiences on the market.

**You will**:

- Actively collaborate throughout product discovery (problem discovery, problem definition, solution discovery, and concept validation) with a variety of cross-functional product development teams to accelerate the exploration and validation of impactful new learning experiences and content
- Quickly translate pedagogical expertise (teaching & learning methods, techniques, and best practices) into actionable input and inspiration throughout product discovery, ensuring an 'education first' approach
- Actively partner with Product/UX Designers to ensure solution designs for MVP/F (minimum viable products/features) are grounded in teaching & learning best practices for learner success and long-lasting engagement
- Strengthen hypothesis-driven discovery by contributing to the development of measurable outcomes of learner engagement and success
- Partner closely with product managers and other product leadership to ensure swift progression of high-impact initiatives
- Work in close collaboration with product designers and product managers to inform and improve design processes and practices
- Serve as an advocate for The Babbel Method and teaching & learning best practices to make sure we're shipping high-quality experiences to our learners
- Promote a strong 'one team' culture across Babbel, working with other leaders to build one high performing team
- Continuously nourish a culture of innovation, learning, risk-taking, diversity and inclusion within operations, teams and across portfolios

**You are**:

- A talented instructional
- or learning experience designer who has shipped excellent learner and learning-centered products
- A creative problem-solver with experience in Design Thinking or a similar iterative problem-solving processes
- A systems-thinker who is able to to pay close attention to how learner experiences are connected and impact the greater learning ecosystem
- Data-informed, and interested in balancing business outcomes with learner centricity
- A great communicator who can express their thoughts well in English
- A fantastic team player who can communicate, align and make joint decisions with participants and stakeholders from multiple disciplines in your day-to-day
- Enthusiastic about iterative design process and open to and inspired by feedback

**You have**:

- At least 2 years of of instructional
- or learning experience design experience, creating digital educational materials and/or experiences
- A university degree in Education, Second Language Acquisition, Linguistics or equivalent
- An experiment-driven approach to learning experience design to drive innovation
- Confidence in deriving actionable insights from user and/or academic research
- Excellent systems thinking skills, and enthusiasm for working iteratively
- Good prioritization and time-management skills
- Excellent English skills
- A strong bias to action, and comfort with change and ambiguity

**Nice to have**:

- Familiarity with learning content and experiences in the Babbel ecosystem
- Understanding of the basics of UX Principles and Research
- Comfort with various content authoring and/or prototyping tools (Example: Figma)
- Experience working in (or closely with) teams that follow Agile methodologies and/or Lean thinking
- Advanced knowledge about the digital self-study and/or self-improvement industry
- Experience with continuous discovery and hypothesis-based product development
- Skills in a second language (German, English, French, Italian, Mexican Spanish or Spanish)
